Hey there, I’m Monica

I remember being given my first camera when I was 15, it was a second hand Minolta 35mm film camera, and I was instantly in love. I spent way too many hours in the darkroom!

I studied photography all through college and continued further at ‘The Photo School’ in Raumati, which was part of Whitireia Polytechnic.

I love photographing people in a natural, documentary style and chasing the light so to say. I prefer to shoot in outdoor settings in natural light, I am not a studio photographer. Whether it be families, couples, good friends, individuals or weddings, it makes me happy to capture beautiful memories that you can cherish!

I have a passion for our natural environment so I spend a lot of time walking the bush tracks near my home, trying to grow my vegetable garden (to be honest mainly tomatoes) and getting as much sun as I can.

I live in Wainuiomata with my partner, daughter and our goofy Labrador named Neville.

I also eat lot’s of avocado, it goes with everything!!
